  • Cracking stuff, we really should make the most of these two while we still can, the class of 1992 are a cut above even now.

    • Absolutely outstanding performance from John Higgins. He's had a very tough year, and a very tough draw in the UK championship, and to come out both on top like that was just incredible.
Patently a genuine sincere guy and I'm very pleased for him.
      Congratulations to Mark J too.

      • Amazing comeback from Higgins, at 9-5 I couldn't see this happening, well done. His mental strength is truly remarkable.

For those who couldn't enjoy this match for what it is - it's YOUR loss. Not snooker's.
That's kinda how I feel about it as well.

            • Absolutely thrilling final, well done to both players for providing us all with such a feast of snooker. Have to admire JH for the tenacity of his performance under the circumstances, both past and present.
And MJWs resurrection from being ranked 46th to coming within a hair's breadth of winning last night, is praise worthy indeed.

Once again, well done both, and thanks for a great evening's entertainment, had me and the Mrs on the edge of our seats right up to the last few balls.

              • If there are players existing on the Earth to bounce back from such a disappointment, Mark J surely belongs to that class.
Also, thinking again, although losing in this way is sounding as if it's the toughest one, a blow-out loss to John would at least be equally hard to swallow, perhaps even harder..

I agree with Matt. 1992 generation is still too much for the rest. I hope we can see another battle in the Masters between these two ( plus Ronnie, of course, which makes it three ).

Just checked the Masters draw, and they're due for a QF match-up. Would be another cracking match, but they should first see off Ding and Dott, before they could take another shot at each other.

                • the year started with a thriller (masters) and ended with a thriller (ukchamp)

Amazingly enough both winners were on the brink of defeat and have similair match styles

the same applies to the losers

Yes, he's big enough & ugly enough to take on the chin and move on... He's done so well to get to the final playing well below his best, I doubt more than 2 or 3 players in the world can do that. He's also up to number 3 in the rankings which isn't so bad considering where he was a couple of seasons ago.

Hats off to the winner though... There is a reason for everything!:snooker:

Perhaps it is. But I hope and think he will take the positives after the first bad taste comes off.

He has a shot at the world number one spot for the end of the season, and is on form to win any of the tournaments on the calendar at the moment.

Yes, well played John. If it was Mark J failing to take the victory and give it to John himself, I would be more disappointed, but John really worked hard and turned the things around. Pity there had to be one loser

                          • UK Final 2010 - odds????

What are the odds of a winning comeback from 9 - 5 and 60 points down?

Your local bookie would not give u odds, but certain less reputable bookies oin the Far East might.

Is John (and now Mark) at tit again?
