Just had a quick look. Liu Song is not playing in the Asian Games.

Tian Peng-fei and Liang Wen-bo had better forms early in the season. I guess that's why they were selected instead of Liu Song. Liu Song is quite fortunate.2006 Premier League Prediction Contest Winner

Or maybe he wasn't selected BECAUSE he qualified for the UK and wants to concentrate on his professional career rather than playing in the Asian Games. After all, it's the UK and there are a lot of ranking points at stake (as well as some useful experience in a venue other than Pontins).

I assume all Liang, Tian & Liu have had some discussion and agreement with the Chinese Association earlier that once any of them get qualified for the UK championship, he will continue the UK campaigne, and if failed just go to Doha. Earlier reports in China said that Liu is also among the list of Asian Games along with the others, but now since he has the new hope in UK he then does not need to go.
I think all the parties involved are just making some kind of sensible decision together, can't imagine that the China governing body does not understand the importance of UK championship or would really ignor Liu's personal profit but still require him to go to Doha if he gets qualified for UK.
Fu is now said to go to the Asian games also, even by pulling out of the UK, so there will be really some fight to look forward to in Doha.

How often is the Asian Games ?You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

Does anyone know where Kachaiwong is? I couldn't see him in the qualifiers for the UK and he isn't in the Thai team at the asian games....You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket.
