I was watching the Davis match, which has been interrupted with Davis at the table, because all the spectators from the O'Sullivan-Hendry match started walking across while he was playing.
Why did O'Sullivan concede?
"If anybody can knock these three balls in, this man can." David Taylor, 11 January 1982, as Steve Davis prepared to pot the blue, in making the first 147 break on television.
d_g, he started a break and then missed not a very easy red to the corner, left a red for Hendry, and then just turned to Steve, shaked his hand and referee's hand and just went away.
As he was leaving the arena Mike Ganley the tournament referee asked him whether anything was wrong and Ronnie said no. I think we can all agree then that it was bad sportsmanship at its worst, including short changing the paying audience, many who may have travelled quite a distance to watch what should have been a great match.
