  • Holt vs McKenzie

Can someone tell me, did Holt actually turn up? 0-8 down after the first session, now not many people can be in line for full prediction points from THAT one....

Mckenzie scored extremely well in this match although we obviously dont know if Michael had a 'flakey' at one point, Need to wait for a match report.

Holt spent time in Dubai, practicing heavily. He even blogged how well he was cueing. What an embarassment!

"Glaswegian Scott MacKenzie is one frame from victory after a storming first session against Michael Holt in the Maplin UK Championship. World No 21 Holt had no answers as his 26-year-old opponent was simply unstoppable. The Scot opened with a 65 to secure the first and then fired in a 109 to take the second. Frames four and five were closer affairs but still went the same way. MacKenzie then had runs of 79, 88 and 59 to complete a dream session. He leads 8-0 with first to nine frames going through to the second round in York. At stake is a place in the last 32 and a match against 888.com World Champion Graeme Dott."

I can't decide if this is better or worse than the Holtie-losing-it-completely scenario. On the whole I think better. Marginally.

8-0 for Holty ..... ggez...i wasn't expected this to happen. As a matter of fact i predicted Holty as a winner. Pretty hard to believe he'll come back to win all the frames in the second session ...
Well it's not the first time when i am surprised by a match result , i am very sure it is not going to be the last either ... To bad for Michael

Poor Michael, he was so confident when he came back from Dubai. Massive body blow!

                          9-0... shocking.

Why does Holty do this to himself? I'm not disputing his opponent played well but Michael's a cracking player but shoots himself in the foot so many times.

I'm not sure what happened, but Mackenzie only had one century. What were the other frame scores?
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
