  • Does BBC know something that we don't?

This is the BBC article about Ding winning the treble in Asian Games, but read the lines in bold. Is it just another crap article from the good old BBC?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/othe...er/6219458.stm

China's Ding Junhai won his third snooker gold of the Asian Games when he beat compatriot Liang Wenbo 4-2 in the singles final.
The world number four had already won team gold with Tian Pengfei and Liang as well as sharing the doubles title.

<b>Ding passed on the defence his UK Championship crown to represent his country at the Asian Games in Doha. <b>

He also won the 2005 China Open and beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in this season's Northern Ireland Trophy final.

I've heard nothing, his name is still on the worldsnooker drawsheet, it doesn't say w/o so yes I believe the bbc have it wrong
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman

Who knows, we'll have to wait and see. I can see him being jaded by the time he returns to the Uk and it wouldn't surprise me if he pulled out anyway. Ryan Day is more than a match for him and if he isn't 100% I doubt he'd beat him.

          Dear oh dear.

Arent the BBC meant to have a reputation for a high standard of reporting.

Doesnt seem to stretch to their reporting of snooker though unfortunately.

Just ignor the BBC stuff, they are unshameful

China reports saying that Ding's agent Gary is with him in Doha during the last few days and they will fly back to UK today.

BBC must have thought that as the other players withdrew. So did Ding. But they didnt realise that he has the time to come back and play.

Ding did pass on the defence, didn't he? But then the UK championship changed the schedule so Ding didn't have to give it up.

The Asian Games organizer readjusted their schedule as well so that Ding could finish quick and hurry back to play the UK

Slightly off topic, but does WorldSnooker know something we don't? It says on their drawsheet the Robertson is through to the next round despite losing to Hull

Probably just a typing error, but still...
