  • Hendry - How far will he go in York?

Personally, I think that Hendry will scrape through to the last 16 and then get hammered by Williams. I think they met at the same stage last year and Hendry won 9-3, so Williams will be out for revenge.

I'd really love Hendry to win his 6th UK title, but I can't see it - his last title was in 1996.

    What do you all think?

It's very difficult to say. Beeing nr one, he's bound to get a nice draw almost every time. If he can find his rythm again, a semifinal is not too much to ask. If he's still playing ****, I'll be glad if he doesn't embarrass himself.

Oh he'll get over Harold , this one match he can't lose. But Williams , well it's a tough match ,and judging the way he played lately i don't think he'll pass over Mark. And even if he is , he will meet either Ronnie or Maguire in the quarters so i can't see him in the semis , really.
But who knows , snooker tournaments always have surprises to reveal

Its a tough one to call. Hendry and Williams form has been up and down recently, Hendry's more down than up, I must admit.

I hope they meet though, and both players hit a bit of form. Could be a cracking match

          Alan McManus The Winner
          Stephen Hendry The Loser

I think and hope Stephen Hendry will do great in this UK. A good start today and hopefully he is on course....
I saw that going differently in my mind

Seems we are each others opposites when it comes to favourite and non favourite players. Good though, makes it more interesting, that not everyone likes the same ones.

Only one hour and seven minutes to go now! I think I need a sedative. And a box of chocolate.

I think Williams will get the better of Hendry.

Dave Harold seems to be coming back to somewhere near his best & im sure will give Hendry a very good game. ive got Hendry down for a 9-7 win but i wouldnt be surprised if Hendry loses this match the way he has been playing this year !!

                    I just realised something interesting.

If Hendry loses his match against Harold and Davis wins against McManus, then Davis will be ahead of Hendry in the provisional rankings for the first time in 16 years.

I've always been a Hendry fan but i can't see him winning it. Against Harold so far he's missed too many decent chances.
He'll have a tough game against Williams next which he'll find tough if he keeps making silly errors.

I hate to say it but i have my doubts as to whether Hendry can win a ranking title again.

Hope he proves me wrong next weekend!
