Dott appears to be playing fantastically. Does anyone think he could win the UK and World in the same year?

Average shot time 18 seconds, going 4-0 up by the look of things, including one frame where Hull had a promising lead.

That blue to win the second frame must be one of the shots of the tournament!

Definatly especially with his quarter opened right up. Hoepfully if he gets to the semis he will play O'Sullivan because he has a decent record over him. Come On Graeme!

Well I opened my mouth a little too soon with regards the scoreline, as Dott overcut a black off its spot and Hull made an excellent 70ish break for the frame.

But still, Dott is looking good, and that blue will stick in my mind for a while.

(And why is it that the blue has a tendency to produce memorable shots? The blue that won Mark Williams the Grand Prix at Preston two o three years ago, the blue that Stevens potted against Higgins at Sheffield in 2002...)

I had a bet on Dott this morning at 20/1 for the tournament as he's in the easiest quarter by far and I'm confident he'll get to the semis at least.

Also, if I had to choose one player to beat Ronnie I'd go for Dott so even if they meet in the semis, it's certainly not a foregone conclusion that the Rocket will progress. I'd fancy him even more against Maguire/Hendry/Williams.

He's now been reduced to 12/1!

As I've got tickets for the final I was fearing the worst (i.e. Dott will be in it) so at least now it'll be a win-win situation whatever happens.

Dott looks in great form! Seems to be playing much better than he did even at the WC. Maybe if he had played more like this at the crucible he would be more popular?

I think Dott's looked the best player in the tournament so far! He seems intent on shaking off his "dogged determined" tag in favour of becoming a renound fluent breakbuilder!

Higgins played well tonight and would be a test and Ding and Ronnie will be tough to beat but apart from them, my money's on Dott!

this has been the best tournament i've seen for quite some time.
obviously dott is playing very well, davis and mcmanus are playing very well. ebdon made 4 centuries and several more 70+ breaks and now leading bingham 6-2. higgins is also on top form, leading lee 7-1 with 3 centuries. ding played connvincingly against day. but i don't like the way ronnie plays, it's so hard to compete with top players, it'll be impossible if he losses his competitive drive as he claimed. hendry, williams and maguire i don't really fancy, they're just too inconsistent to be deserved winners. so i would think dott has a good chance of getting into the semi, or even the final, but can't see him winning it.
