  • Theoretical 147 or high break in Last 48

Let's see the prize money for 147 and highest break in UK:

    1. Qualifications (Prestatyn):
    147 - 1000
    high - 500

    2. Main tournament (York):
    147 - 25000
    high - 5000

Now: it has been also stated that 25000 and 5000 would be paid to players making their breaks in the TV Stages. Last 48 of UK (played already in York)was not on TV... Assuming a 147 was potted in Last 48 - what would be the pay-cheque? 1000 or 25000? I suppose it is 1000 but does anyone know?

ps: luckily this will not happen (concerning both: max and highest break)

If a player made a 147 in the first York round, it would not be classed as a tv century.

If a player made one in the second York round, it would qualify for the tv prize regardless of whether it was on a televised day. I guess the reasoning is that it is luck if your match happens to be on a non-televised day when part of that round was televised.

It did happen a few years ago, when (I think) David Gray made his 147 in a partly televised round – he got the full tv-max prize even though the cameras were not there for his match.

It also happened to Jamie Cope the month before last in Aberdeen. (It was a televised day, but not on a televised table.)
