I agree, today he was superb, but with that cueing he is bound to be extremely vulnerable when he's not hitting top form, which , most of the time, you don't.

I wasnt trying to say he had a poor cue action !! The total opposite infact. I was trying to say his technique seems brilliant.

Edit: i think i understand the point you are making now. Though I cant really comment as i havent seen him play on one of his off days.

    • Allen looks as if he is in super form. 3-0 coming up!

      • Bingham gets a 68 in 1st frame, misses a red, murphy clears up with a 70 to win.

It's just one miss, but it's a miss he just shouldn't have made. He should just have done better in the first session where he had enough chances to go into this session with a better score.

On the other hand, it's not easy to play against someone who is playing so well.
Last night Higgins should have taken the last 3 frames, but went down on easy (for a top 16 player) shots each time and was lucky not to be 6 - 2 down. But Cope took every advantage he was given.

          • Would you believe Selby and Hamilton are currently playing the 10th frame of a possible 17 tonight! Could be a very late finish!

indeed, indeed... I can´t believe he lost 6 frames in a row, damn! I was watching the live-scoring and I was biting my nails with the result that I don´t have any nails left and that Ali has lost *grrr*

And the winner has to play two sessions tomorrow at 1:30 and 7:00... could be tough...

                • Marco, Selby and McCulloch are doing well. Marco needs one more frame and Ian needs 2 more.

I know. All this time I thought it was strange that Marco and Ding (and their opponents) kept getting the same result. I refreshed the page to find Ding and Ian retired till tomorrow

Anyone know what the scores were?

                        • congrats to cope.....there was no pressure in second session for him and the young man just played his game....2 days in a row...
I remember his performance with Robertson a month ago...he coludnt pot the simplyest ball... yesterday and today his breakbuilding is excellent....this is a huge boost for his confidence...he show us many faces this season...is this the real one???

lucky for cope that Hawkins is exhausted mentaly with this comeback today...we all know how difficult is to do that...5 in a row...first or second are not so difficult...but 5 is amazing.....good job....

                          • I think Cope should win a title this year. He's been two finalists last year.but no champion.

                            • I think Mark Williams will be the surprise winner of the UK. He will whitewash Mark Allen in todays session.
