I wonder how badly it would affect his chances of being awarded the Masters wildcard if he were to lose this match.

          • Come on Jimmy! On an aside, Doherty will probably be beat by Liu Chuang. He's really going at it isn't he?

                  • Rory McLeod and Jimmy White balanced in crucial 16th frame. If White wins this one, he has just had two 9-8 wins and would surely be confident having come from behind again.
Mark Davis now 8-7 up and just starting 16th frame just ahead.

                    • Walden-Davis match has been pretty close. I thought it was over at 7-5 but...
It's been close so far, whose to say 9-8?

                      Same goes for Jimmy!!

                      • Looks like Davis will edge out Walden - 52 ahead and counting. Good win for Mark Davis, although in my opinion not a huge surprise as aside from the stunning win for Ricky, he has still a lot to prove, and although promising he has been inconsistent.

                        • Mark Davis notches another decent win - reasonable season for him so far. Jimmy White at 8-8 for the third match in a row. Can he do it again?...

                          • I agree, Mark Davis I have always thought of as a consistent and solid player.
Ricky Walden is interesting and I'm still wondering if he'll make anything of his win in Shanghai.

Meanwhile it's set to be 8-8. Come on Jimmy, make it 3 in a row!

That'll be the next step for Ricky Walden - he certainly has talent and showed good nerve in winning some tight matches at Shanghai.

Jimmy in first - on break of 26 - Can he finish it in one visit? Quickly answered - No!

                              • Very good win for Mark Davis! Yeah, his playing has improved this season. I think he'll win over Nigel Bond and then face "the rocket" in the main tournament. If he reach the final stages, I think he (Mark) has good chances to collect some important rankingpoints for reaching the top 32.
