    Hi April,

Now that is a great idea - well done World Snooker - what an excellent way to promote our sport ...

Telford is I'm afraid a bit too far for me but I really hope it goes well ...

Since the press release says "first come, first served", I guess it's open to all players of all standards so I'd recommend players of even my poor standard (max break 25) to apply ... sfter all, we're surely the ones who could benefit the most from some top quality coaching

Of course it's open to players of all standards, unfortunately a bit too far for me too Would be interesting if anyone from TSF who gets there for this coaching could share his experience here afterwards.

It sounds a good idea to promote our sport, as DandyA said. Del Hill is a very good coach too, so even better. There will not be a lot of time to really improve your game though as in such little time you can get through only a very small amount of coaching, it depends on the player but it may help you never know!

Well, you can improve by practice, practice, practice... 20 minutes won't be enough for that, but you can get some tips on what you should work on. And of course, if you really want to get better, you can always get a proper coaching from Del www.delcoachessnooker.com. not for free though

Unfortunately it isn't for free, anyway £40 per hour isn't as bad as Terry Griffiths who charges £117.50 per hour AND you must have a minimum of 2 hours per session of 1 to 1 coaching. That's £235 per session.

Some say the high price shows it's serious coaching, but I must say it's too expensive.

Well of course, I guess the coaches have to make their living too But it might pay off for some - who knows, maybe those 20 minutes at Telford might help too. I hope we'll get some feedback from those who might do the coaching there, could be interesting experience.

Terry is a proper coach who has won the World Championship

Quite obviously he's not going to come cheap but most players regard him as the best

Coaching is only really for players who want to take the game fairly seriously. In all honesty I don't see how Griff can justify his prices if that is true. Okay he has done well for the likes of Fu and Williams but then its mainly a mental thing with those players. Your average Joe down the club is not going to become a professional regardless of how much he pays TG. Was Griff ever technically that good that he won much in the game? I think not, he was never a great potter or break builder he just had a decent game that relied a lot on grinding out results. If that is for you then fair enough but the game has moved on since his era and I think so too has coaching.

                          No he never won much

Apart from the World Championship, the UK Championship and the Masters and presumably they don't count

And it wasn't a mental thing at all with Fu. Griffiths took his game apart and then rebuilt it.

It couldn't have been more technical.
