i suffer from depression. I'm unipolar.

its not something i would ever criticise anyone for or trivialise in any way.

if Ronnie's many misdemeanors are all caused by his illness then fair enough. i don't honestly believe it is though, it certainly wasn't the case today.

What i believe is that, for a player already fustrated by his "under acheivement" which IS largely down to his illness, it becomes much more difficult for him to except it when he is being outplayed, especially by a player of perrys decent but not world class standard. this causes mood swings and immature behaviour.

speaking from experience, sufferers of depression can at times, tend to act selfishley and withuot concern for the repercussions ther actions might cause.

People like Marcus Trescothick, however, tend to understand the importance of their role and impact on the people who put them in their privaledged position in the first place and do the right thing.

people like ronnie, unfortunately, seem to thrive off the drama, thus trivialising their illness themselves.

Ronnie O'sullian is the most talented player to ever play the game but at times he does more damage to it then good and whats more he is not doing himself any favours either.

hey steedee i too, as i have mentioned in previous posts, suffer from depression although a milder form. However, some people, who dont suffer from it, do not understand how it works in the mindset. Similar to Ronnie, anything I do will NEVER be enough or good enough but I have learned (and are learning) to accept this.

Yes, I googled it. Ronnie's not the only one to have done it. Surely, he did it before: Malta 2005, against Dott. But definitely not the only one.

...In-off, is exactly what I don't understand. We agree, he shouldn't have done it, it was not appropriate for him to do it, others do it (sounds like that birds and bees song and it shouldn't right now), he admitted Perry played better (which he did, was very effective in punishing every mistake, I was surprised by the number of hard pots he got straight into the heart of the pocket) and that was it.
No mention of "illness", "depression", "mental state" whatsoever.
So why bring it up? I don't mean you, I mean it generally. Someone please explain it to me, since I can't for the life of me understand it and I've been trying to for quite a while now.
It goes like this:
Ronnie loses a match.
In addition he does something more or less uncalled for.
People say: "His fans will definitely blame this on his depression."
His fans don't. The real ones don't, anyway.
Heated arguments begin.
etc. etc. etc.

The day Ronnie admits to having been defeated on account of health problems will be the day mittens will be needed in hell.

I think it is like a pattern for Ronnie. From time to time he does something wrong and i think he does it because he needs attention. Last night Perry played better and Ronnie needed to do something to draw attention towards him....and he conceded a frame.

He does this things and the only people who care about it are the viewers...he doesnt care...we are.

I think im getting use to it and im starting to not care anymore about what this spoiled brat does. So i will not criticise him anymore because it is not worth it......
