I am very slow. I still do not understand the logic behind, "because he is ill, so he is exempt for..."
So, if he is suffering from depression, or bipolar disorder, he can behave differently toward others in an otherwise unacceptable manner? Why? I thought the rules applied to everyone equally.

In response to Black_cat´s enquiry about bringing up Ronnie´s mental state:
I think the posters who have brought it up are simply remembering past threads concerning Ronnie where some of his fans kept on mentioning it.
And by saying that I don´t mean that all his fans are same. But you know like it is, it´s the "uber" ones who are heard or remembered most. It´s not just a matter of snooker, you would find them in other sports, as well. The more famous or sucessful the person is, the more of them they´ve got. At least that´s my impression.
And in defense of PaulTheSoave, I think this thread was a good idea. Judging by previous responses concerning certain acts of ROS, this one would have brought comments, too. However, by detaching it from the second round discussion everyone had got the opportunity to choose whether to open this "can of worms" or not. And the ones willing to comment on the situation on the other tables didn´t have their chat spoiled.
Coming back to the Sun article, in that light, http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle2044979.ece the statement about "not caring", if true, is ,to say the least, ill-advised. Of course it is to be seen, or rather heard, what exactly Ronnie said. It's not the first time a sportsman statement is taken out of context for the benefit of sensationalism.Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

I personally think everyone needs to chill out (;
He's a genius, no doubt about it, and he also can do erratic random things which he shouldn't do but hey, it's Ronnie, what else are you expecting from him?
Sorry for the poor comparison, but in a (very vague) way it's like Britney Spears. She's known to have done crazy things in the past, and now if she gets something as miniscule as a speeding ticket, everyone has it out for her. With Ronnie, he get's stroppy, he conceeds a frame, and suddenly he's the bad guy. Everyone loves talking about him, he makes snooker exciting. 'Love him or hate him it's still an obsession' and all that.

I think the whole situation can be summed up simply. there is no excuse for what he has done, he acts unprofessional at times, (as are others that i wasnt aware off, hands up there!) other times he is a joy and an inspiration.
IF his depression is causing him to behave this way (we have no evidence of this) then perhaps a rethink is required.
personally as much as i enjoy his talent, johnashford might have a point, he behaves this way because of a pesonality flaw as opposed to his illnessFantasy Game Overall Winner 09/10 - World Championship 2009 Fantasy Game Winner - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Overall Winner 09/10 - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Runner-Up 08/09 - UK Championship 2010 Prediction Contest Winner - Rileys @ Chorlton Pool Team Merit Winner 07/08, 09/10:snooker:

It's everything to do with petulance (even worldsnooker.com says this)
Professional sportsmen should be able to cope when things are against them

Be honest ADR, do you think any of them likes it when it happens? Hendry? Davis? Of course not! You can't be on the top of any sport if you are not competitive. They all hate to lose and they all hate to be second in a match.Proud winner of the 2008 Bahrain Championship Lucky Dip
