I am very slow. I still do not understand the logic behind, "because he is ill, so he is exempt for..."

So, if he is suffering from depression, or bipolar disorder, he can behave differently toward others in an otherwise unacceptable manner? Why? I thought the rules applied to everyone equally.

Where did you get this from? Who did say such a thing? ... I read this thread late last night and maybe it escaped me but I didn't see any such statement from any of the "Ronnie fans". It certainly isn't in my post on ROS forum.

In response to Black_cat´s enquiry about bringing up Ronnie´s mental state:

I think the posters who have brought it up are simply remembering past threads concerning Ronnie where some of his fans kept on mentioning it.
And by saying that I don´t mean that all his fans are same. But you know like it is, it´s the "uber" ones who are heard or remembered most. It´s not just a matter of snooker, you would find them in other sports, as well. The more famous or sucessful the person is, the more of them they´ve got. At least that´s my impression.

And in defense of PaulTheSoave, I think this thread was a good idea. Judging by previous responses concerning certain acts of ROS, this one would have brought comments, too. However, by detaching it from the second round discussion everyone had got the opportunity to choose whether to open this "can of worms" or not. And the ones willing to comment on the situation on the other tables didn´t have their chat spoiled.

Coming back to the Sun article, in that light, http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle2044979.ece the statement about "not caring", if true, is ,to say the least, ill-advised. Of course it is to be seen, or rather heard, what exactly Ronnie said. It's not the first time a sportsman statement is taken out of context for the benefit of sensationalism.
If only we headed our own advices sometimes.
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

                I personally think everyone needs to chill out (;
He's a genius, no doubt about it, and he also can do erratic random things which he shouldn't do but hey, it's Ronnie, what else are you expecting from him?
Sorry for the poor comparison, but in a (very vague) way it's like Britney Spears. She's known to have done crazy things in the past, and now if she gets something as miniscule as a speeding ticket, everyone has it out for her. With Ronnie, he get's stroppy, he conceeds a frame, and suddenly he's the bad guy. Everyone loves talking about him, he makes snooker exciting. 'Love him or hate him it's still an obsession' and all that.

Nothing to do with you, PTS, just a bit of insomnia and a day off today. Add to that the impossibility to get off the computer chair because you're too tired to do that and instead you click-click-click away.
                  Robbo managed to lose, awesome.

Wait, wait, thinsy, maybe jonashford, when writing "Hes a c0ck", wanted to use the contracted form of "has", not "is", in which case the sentence turns from insulting to informative.

I think the whole situation can be summed up simply. there is no excuse for what he has done, he acts unprofessional at times, (as are others that i wasnt aware off, hands up there!) other times he is a joy and an inspiration.
IF his depression is causing him to behave this way (we have no evidence of this) then perhaps a rethink is required.

personally as much as i enjoy his talent, johnashford might have a point, he behaves this way because of a pesonality flaw as opposed to his illness

I do not understand why Ronnie behaves that way again and again? sure, he was playing surely, but it's just unsportsmans like behavior to leave the table at that point of the game.

pitty. it's just such a great game.

correct and yes he is a cock but its not the issue - the facts here are that joe perry was the better player and desrved to win and ronnie doesn't like that.

No he doesn't like it. He did nevertheless praise Perry's game first thing during his post-match.
Be honest ADR, do you think any of them likes it when it happens? Hendry? Davis? Of course not! You can't be on the top of any sport if you are not competitive. They all hate to lose and they all hate to be second in a match.
