ITs against some rule that was only brought in recently! I over heard it on the tele, When players concede it makes things harder on bookmakers. cause they class it as not winning!

I never knew that, myself! Every day you learn something new.

Oh, hang on, it was packed, wasn't it?
Those of us over the age of 25 remember people saying the sport couldn't live without Alex Higgins.
Guess what - it did!

how very naive of you....
Final tickets are sold out long before anyone knows who is playing. You expect finals to be sold out even if Ebdon is playing.
The real crunch factor is round 1 and so on. And on that, only O'sullivan gets a full house. Not just the fact he puts bums on seats but the fact that he is always bringing attention to snooker good or bad (and there is no such thing as bad publicity). The chinese love him and most of those watching abroad support him and love his play.
At the moment, snooker has a low amount of ranking events, no sponsor for biggest events, crowds almost absent in the earlier rounds and you think losing o'sullivan would all be ok!
DREAM ON!

Of course the sport can SURVIVE without him but we dont know how many followers would stop attending/watching if he retired tomorrow. Snooker followers obviously wouldnt but id guess a fair few would.Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.

You have the snooker fans, which are those who enjoy following the sport and although they have their favourite players they will watch, no matter who is playing.
... then you have the retarded Ronnie fan boys who are like the trash of the snooker boards/forums/sites and don't respect anyone.

As much as it would be a loss to Snooker if Ronnie say for example he announced his retirement from professional Snooker tomorrow, it wouldn't change my habits of how much i watch the game & attend tournaments any less. If your a true die hard fan of the game like myself & many others on this forum it should make no difference whatsoever!"Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."

Well it survived the departure of Higgins because Jimmy was there, and to be fair in the 80's at its peak it didn't really need him. It has to be said Ronnie is carrying the game at the moment, and if he went what little sponsorship interest is left in the game would also go meaning it would be entirely reliant on the BBC, at least for UK tournaments. Personally I think it will survive because the future of the game is clearly in China and it has its own stars in Ding and Wenbo.

... Sadly, his own addictive weaknesses, failing body and mind gave himself the bum's rush...
but that damned little sparkplug keeps fightin' his way back in the door!
I hope snooker's survival is that tenacious but dressed with more dignity...

I insist.
It's ever so refreshing to come here and read offenses.
Will snooker survive after Ronnie's departure?
Of course, it will.:snooker:Men play the game, women know the score
