I've put a tenner on Maguire to win the tournament @ 9/1. Don't think 4 frames is such a massive difference and the first two frames are crucial tonight. If he wins both, the belief will be sky high that he can come back. He likes Telford, and doesn't want to leave this without a fight.

It would have been more sensible just to set fire to that tenner!

On a serious note, I'm hoping for a Maguire comeback then a tense finish to the match.

Mentioned in the commentary box but I agree, this situation means Maguire can play more freely, and see how it goes. Needs Murphy to really, really wobble, but you never know.

Just shows what a good draw can do for you. Murphy has played Gould, Allen and Lee compared to Burnett, Robertson and Higgins. Even in the other tournaments this year if his draw would have opened right up. I do think the draws need to be seeded beter as Joe Perry, world number 12 has had the number 1 or number 2 seed in every tournament so far and Murphy had seeds 15 and 16 in his quarter.

good point anyway i think fu will beat him tomorrow and that will be justice because fu has played some of the best snooker this week including 7 centuries i believe he will be too solid for murphy and will win

Well Maguire has had a much tougher route compared to Murphy's. I know which draw I would rather have and it looked like Maguire was clearly jaded. Its always the case when you look at the draw, there is always one quarter that is a little nicer than others and low and behold its Murphy's. Just look at the Worlds and the Welsh Open draws!

Not the most attractive final as a fan for me, not too keen on either player, but I knew Murphy would eventually be turning all those semi-finals into victories and in particular in the bigger events like Telford and Sheffield.
