Nothing was a favourable draw for Murphy this week, not in the horrific form he's been in. The biggest thing for him was the opening win against Gould. His game was lacking confidence this season, and that win kickstarted his year/tournament. Since then, it's been relatively easy for him, because he's such a good player he'd be favourite against 90% of the tour on any given day.

You can only play/beat the player you're drawn against & today he beat Stephen by playing better snooker. I've seen other players knock seeds out then falter against lesser players, surely that's no winning strategy!!!

I have to say I’m surprised Maguire got this far. I was expecting him to be affected by the rumors over his match against Burnett, and quite frankly, in the match against Higgins I thought he was finished when the score was leveled at 7 all. Anyway, he seemed much stronger last season.
