I can't believe that The Cheater has done it with the fluke again and to make things worse this time with a double fluke. This world is not a fair place to be in. You just can't like that guy can't you!?

In both matches all 4 players had their chances in the final frame, Davis missed the Blue from the spot and Rory could also end up as the winner. Yes the flukes on the Pink and on the final Red were vital and unfortunate but thats the way it goes I guess... Luck is always on the side of the strong.

Would have been great though if the opening two matches were won by the underdog!!

Exactly right, they both choked on balls they should have potted giving their opponents a chance when they shouldn't have. If they had potted their respective balls there was no opportunity for either of these flukes to have happened, therefore they don't deserve to say luck is what cost them, they both bottled it plain and simple.

I'm afraid neither Rory nor Mark D. could ever win major titles. These matches show exactly why. It was not bad luck. They had all the chances in the world to finish their opponents off. But they didn't. Flukes just came in as a final punishment. And yes, they deserved it because this is a cruel game.

Mcleod didn't lose because of the fluked red. He lost it because he failed to stop Higgins from getting back into the match.
Mark Davis on the other hand has grounds to feel aggrieved - he choked on match ball in the penultimate frame and then lost to a fluke. It's tough to make the handshake after a loss like that.

Both the underdogs had earlier chances, Rory should have been 3 -1 up but stuck the final black up and then 4 -2 but missed the chance, Mark had ding at 5-4 i think or 5-5 but missed the blue.

If both had taken those chances then the flukes wouldn't have happened. To finsh on a fluke just rubs it in more that you should have finished it when you had the chance but give top players to many chances and they will take them.
