Can it be that eurosport.ru commentary was wrong (about ref having to approve each leave)? Isn't he a snooker referee himself Sinicin, I mean..Co-winner of Spike’s 2009 UK Championship number of centuries prediction contest.

I think some players are more prone than others to getting clammy hands and just want to wash and dry them between frames. As they couldn't use this as a valid excuse they have to come up with something else in order to leave the arena.
It's quite amusing as this excuse mentality is probably directly attributable to Murphy claiming that frame against Maguire when Maguire could have just said to the ref he'd forgotten to go to the toilet (as an excuse) when really he was fetching his chalk. I've always disliked Murphy since then; not a very forgiving attitude for a committed Christian was it? The rules may have been in his favour but I don't know of another pro who would have been that petty, or that keen to get a frames advantage at the risk of alienating other pro's.I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.
