Great frame from both, but ROS takes it to 8-3. Again Steven's angst to use the rest cost him this frame. John's comment on an allmost in-off by ROS, 'there is no gravity in Telford', was the highlight
I actually like their opponents which is a shame, but that's just the luck of the draw for you
I'm predicting a very tired Ali... 4 sessions in 2 days?! That's quite harsh on Ali. And Mark's been playing 4 days in a row so he's not had it that easy either...
Winner of Ja's Super Special Grand Prix Lucky Dip 2009 Joint-winner of montoya10/theasaris' Shanghai Masters Fantasy Game 2010
O'Sullivan-Ebdon is obviously the main match. I predicted a 9-7 in O'Sullivan's favour, but that was when it looked like it would go close against Stevens. I wouldn't necessarily change it now, because Ebdon apparently played pretty well himself, so I can't see him being trashed. O'Sullivan wasn't really tested against Stevens, but he should be today. If Ebdon can get under his skin a bit, he could take him out. But if O'Sullivan is up for it, he will probably have too much for Ebdon.
I predicted Murphy to win 9-5 against Ding, when it looked like Ding was struggling. Murphy has a good record against Ding, but he lost the last one, so his psychological edge might be gone. But he might have an edge on the table this week. Can't be sure though, until I see Ding play.
Peter Lines' chances? It's tough to speculate how well he played against Fu, as Fu has a habit of sometimes not turning up at all. I think he might be overwhelmed by Williams, unless Williams has a bad day. Which is entirely possible of course, as he had them in the Grand Prix as well, even though he appeared to play well.
I predicted Lee to win against Carter, but that was when Carter was down against McLeod. From what I've seen towards the end of Carter's match, he seemed to be potting very well, but often running out of position. He could be in trouble against Lee, especially if he hasn't recovered from last night's late finish yet. Lee was supposedly impressive against Allen, and although he's a qualifier this week, it's not like he hasn't been here before. He could turn it on and come through.
The matches that are already in progress seem to be going according to my prediction, so I'll stick with it. Except for the Liang-King match, which I thought would be closer. It still could be, if King starts well and makes it 7-4ish. But it's Liang's to lose now.
Can't believe Rory didn't win last night - he played sone terrific shots but seemed to slow down and get bogged down.
Ali looked defeated and was really annoying me chewing gum all the time. I was surprised he was not his normally smart self - that's what fatherhood does perhaps!

Could be a good day of snooker today.
I predicted a closer one, too
Apart from Ronnie v. Ebdon, we have Lee v. Carter and Murphy v. Ding, so an enthusiastic day should be expected.
Also, I'll be cheering for Mark to reach the quarter finals, which makes all four matches interesting to me
Ding was a mystery to me before the tournament, and to be honest, remains as one.. If he can show some strong match play, he will have his chances there..
All the way Mark J!!
I understand nothing from snooker. - Dedicated to jrc750!
I'm hoping Ding can carry on showing the kind of form he showed at the Grand Prix by getting to the final.
Yes he does not have best of records against Murphy, but i think he's due a win against him and what a better time to do it than at the UK Championship..
