I certainly didn't expect a trashing in the Murphy-Ding match, especially not in Ding's favuor. I guess my suspicion of Murphy peaking a bit too early turned out to be right.
As for Ding... Yet another reason to be annoyed at not buying him in the snookermanager game. Although truth be told, I would probably have sold him after the first two events anyway. Nice to see a prolonged run of good form. Must be favourite against Carter now.

Good going Ding!"Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."

I just knew Peter Lines would win because David Hendon had said this was ‘a match too far’ for Lines!!

Lines is a player I've never seen before, so I look forward to that. He must have played well to get this far. But Williams must be a little embarrassed. He couldn't have asked for a better draw here. This leaves the draw open for Maguire...
Ebdon wasn't a match for O'Sullivan today. Although he played a couple of great shots here and there, his scoring on the whole was somewhat lacking. Just the opposite for O'Sullivan, not many unforced error from him today. I think he has shown more than Higgins so far in the tournament, but it's Ding that's looked the most impressive in my opinion.
Good lineup for the QF: 5 of the world's top8 players, the two in-form Chinese stars, and the unlikely qualifier on a "fairy tale" run.
