I remember when peter lost to parrott at sheffield in the first round proper he made a 141 break the highest break by a debutant and said to people that he had a bet at the bookies agains't it getting beat which it did lol and he got more money for it getting beat than he would have got for winning it haha
My point is anyone who can put 141 breaks at a venu is a class player and is well worth the watch

Certainly, once you get to the QF, the out of form players are filtered out. Lines must be playing well, or he wouldn't have got this far. I look forward to seeing him... I never miss a QF match if I can help it.

          • I played Peter Lines in an exhibition on Friday - lost on a respot lol.
Great player to watch when playing well, nice quick breakbuilder with a great safety game too. GO ON PETE!

But still, he should not be shaken with a single loss.. Well played Ding, by the way
              All the way Mark J!!

              • This business with Ding leaving the arena after every frame, I think Murphy was well within his rights to protest. It's getting ridiculous with players leaving. In my opionion they shouldn't be allowed to leave the arena more than once a session, or maybe once an hour (if frames are long).

Disappointed to see Steve Lee and Mark Williams go out
                Cheers

But he can be repaired, can't he

Or just like the Terminator? Is it end of everything for him?

I think it was just (the pure frustration) on Murphy's part that he was well behind at the time - 7-3 if i remember correctly. I'm sure if it was Shaun Murhpy was leading by the same scoreline he more than likely would have said nothing..

I'm not disputng the reasons and circumstances that caused Murphy to complain. I just think on a whole that the WPBSA need to start clamping down on it as players are using it as tactics now, which I think is wrong. In each 4 frames miny session, a player should only be allowed to leave the arena once. It never used to happen.
                        Cheers

Well i honestly do not think Ding was using that as tactics. For all we know he may have (a bladder problem) of some sort. I could well understand why someone who is well behind in a match would may want to employ those kind of tactics if they were (losing heavily) maybe, but i dont honestly think Ding is one of those players..

                          • Maybe they should stop supplying them with so much water and ice then LOL

Weak bladder or not, to leave the arena after every frame is ridiculous however you look at it. Particularly as he is winning. If he was being beaten he could be consoling himself drinking water in his seat, but while he's at the table he's not drinking.

I think it's become a habit of players.
                            Cheers

Wasn't it Ronnie that started this trend off, some years ago? Or is my memory playing tricks on me?

                              • I honestly cannot remember who started it, but somebody has got to stop it in my opinion. Maybe they are being told to do it so the tv companies can get their adverts in?
