too bad ronnie didn't win the fifth, then he would have been well back in the game.. he's not been great at getting out of snookers in this tournament.
let's hope he gets a couple of frames early in the evening session.
Comeback? If O'Sullivan plays his best, it's entirely possible against a solid but not brilliant Higgins.
I don't think ROS will find his A game today, it's just one of those days he is little 'absent'. Could become quite boring if we only have to see Higgins playing.
Let's make a prediction for the current situation.. Higgins winning 9-3 or 9-5.. If Ronnie wins the first frame of the session, he will add two more before the interval.. Or providing he loses that one, he'll only be able to take one..
All the way Mark J!!

Would be disappointing if we dont get to see much of O' Sullivan tonight, but i wouldn't say it would be "quite boring" watching Higgins if he ends up dominating tonight's session as well IMO!

Ronnie O'Sullivan should be described as the worst remedy known. I mean he gives his fans such a hard time! Just when you think he's playing really good and about to clinch another ranking tournament, he plays below his level and loses! Same story keeps on repeating especially this year in the World championship, Grandprix and now the UK championship!
If it was anyone other than Higgins I would wait for round 2 with hope, but 7 frames for the rocket against Higgins is too much, I think it's better for us Ronnie's fans to go to bed early tonight...
agreed mate .... though i badly want to disagree with you I cannot ... rocket spoiled my day ... I mean he made a couple of mistakes even I wont make in a club game .. so frustrating

That's the reason why he's one of my all-time favourite players. You never know which Ronnie would turn up, so he's not as dominant as he should be which is great because I hate dominance..I'm almost happy that I've never seen Hendry's peak times, as I would hate him more than anybody else on the world because the way he approached the game, he was killing it. I know not many thinks the same, let's say many will say those times were the glory years of snooker.. In fact, I think those times were Hendry's glory years, rather than the sport's.
And I'll watch the evening session knowing that Ronnie is going to lose. That's the part of being a Ronnie fan..
By the way, I don't even know why I just wrote such a long and partly off-topic comment above
