  • You can put me in the category of people who enjoy the likes of Davis and Hendry. I want to see snooker played as well as it can be played, as often as possible. And that type of player does that the most, whether you want them to or not.

So, I won't mind Higgins winning convincingly tonight, as long as the snooker is good.

I know not many thinks the same, let's say many will say those times were the glory years of snooker.. In fact, I think those times were Hendry's glory years, rather than the sport's.

And I'll watch the evening session knowing that Ronnie is going to lose. That's the part of being a Ronnie fan..

By the way, I don't even know why I just wrote such a long and partly off-topic comment above
Your point is very valid my friend!

However, being completely unpredictable is also awful, i think. I mean, if Sullivan was the genius we all know, makes a tremendous 147, screws Carter and wins 18-8, the next tournament he's not cuing so well and loses 9-8 or 9-7, that would be completely fine.

But screwing up everyone once then getting screwed capriciously when least expected, that's not fun!

Trust me my friend I'd hate Hendry too if I saw him winning the world championship 7 times in 10 years, but I'd hate Sullivan more if he made me stay awake (since it's 7pm GMT it's 10pm in my country which means matches usually end by 11:30-12 mid-night) and enjoy watching him win 9-3, 9-3, 9-3 then losing horribly.

To be honest, I don't want to sound rude or anything, but I was hoping to see a final consisting of Sullivan and Ding, maybe then the rocket would cause some tears to drop just like the masters 2007
It's not the pace of life that concerns me... It's whether I make a 147 break before it ends!

No, you're not sounding rude at all. I got your point, completely. You find it very difficult to accept the wavy performance of Ronnie through the same tournament, which is not acceptable in my opinion, too.

I'd enjoy a final lineup of Ronnie-Ding more, also. But never say never is my life motto, so even when I call something a lock, I leave a door open
        All the way Mark J!!

Indeed, Ronnie - Ding is more magic than Higgins - Ding.
First session tonight 3 - 1 for O'Sullivan, from there anything can happen.
Of course we don't have to be too categoric about ROS, Higgins is a fantastic player but for some dark reason I always found his game missed some excitment.
I saw that going differently in my mind

You stole the words right out of my mouth! Something about him is just not right, I mean I swear to god I watched Sullivan's 147's (NIT, Masters Vs Selby and WSC vs Mark Williams) a million times yet the excitement never gone down and when the crowd starts losing it my eyes get watery.

However, when Higgins is doing a maximum, I forget that fact in the middle of the frame.

Not really. I don't like one sided matches unless its against Murphy. When Dott was slaughtering O'Sullivan in the WC, I want him to get a couple back to make it a bit more exciting.

                            • Well, at least he got a century. I was getting tired of Hendon and Hallett overstating how well Higgins was playing. Once again O'Sullivan had chances in both frames.
