An accidental foul is not a deliberate miss no matter how you look at it. The mistake was moving the white because Higgins may have been able to pot the red if it was no longer toughing.

we had this discussion before, the MISS rule is not about intentional or delibrate miss, it's about hitting it or not hitting it based on the player's ability

and the white was not a mistake, because Van believed the white was supposed to be touching the red, as Ronnie didn't hit the white, therefore Van replaced the white to be where it's supposed to be, nothing to do with the miss call

I've never seen anything like it! It's incredible yet I'm still wanting John to win and I'm not seeing that happen... and it's all going wrong for John but it makes it sooo exciting!!!
