Maguire won the first one with a couple of visits, not making too many mistakes.

There was some poor play from both players in the 2nd, but once Ding got into prime position, he scored quickly and cleared the table.

Ding won the 3rd in one visit, making a good 70 break.

In the 4th, Ding potted a long red straight from Maguire's break off, and then played a number of impressive shots, before running out of position on about 30. After a couple of shots Ding had another chance but missed badly and left Maguire in. He made a very good 97 to make it 2-2.

I'd say Ding looks very good, certainly in the mood to score well. It could have been 3-1. But Maguire seems up for it as well. He missed a couple of long attempts quite badly, but made an impressive break in the last one.

Ding certainly looks impressive when he's in close and i can see him beating Maguire today.

I'm not so sure if he does reach the final how well he would fare against either Higgins or O' Sullivan with how they both played in the last round..

          Thanks for your report

I'm now watching frame five and Ding looks good so far..He is close to winning it and looks like he's going to get me down with my prediction of a decider win for Maguire..

He's switched up a gear it seems. Maguire needs to dig deep to at least get one of the last two frames now.

He's really good to watch when he's playing like this.

Maguire in with a chance here to take this 8th frame..

                          Maguire given a lifeline here..

And just as I type, he messed it up..

Horrible kick. This game can be so cruel at times

Good chance here. Looks like pink goes in the right corner and left middle, and blue on spot. Cmon Maguire, this frame is huge
