Who did you go for in the other match?

Ding just had too much for Maguire tonight. As Maguire said, he needed to raise his game to get through, but he wasn't able to.

I'll wait for the other semi to be played before commenting on Ding's chances in the final. But as it stands now, he has the game to at least compete on Sunday.

Higgins won the first tournament of the decade and I reckon now he will win the last.

However I want Ding to win a second UK crown to grow his legacy.

Yeah it would be good to see him winning a big title like the UK again...just hard to see him get past O' Sullivan or Higgins though. Ding is pretty much back to his best though so he has to be in with a pretty good shout whoever he meets in the final..

it would be very interesting indeed to see ding play o' Sullivan after previous history, that would be a true test of his bottle and temperament

Well Ding seemed in a pretty good form in Shanghai, there came (quarterfinal?) with Ronnie, game over. Second final in row for Ding, but I'm not sure he's ready or going to be anytime soon ready for Ronnie. And Higgins is playing just too reliably too, would be Higgins final to lose rather than Ding's to win.

(I hope there's hope I'm wrong and final gonna be not one-sided )

well for me he has the game, at his best to match both of those players as he has proved previously winning 3 ranking titles, however even this season although he has played better he hasn't looked the same player since that defeat to O'Sullivan, so its just a case of fighting his demons, whether he can or not remains to be seen

So today it's the clash between the big heavyweights of the game. both O' Sullivan and Higgins have performed consistently well throughout this tournament but without managing to play at their absolute best, though i would say that from what i have seen of both players that Ronnie has just been a shade better overall IMO.

It's a match that could go either way...both players are blessed with an (all round safety game), and both are tremendous breakbuilders and of course they have a wealth of experience. It could just come down to who wants it most on and i think both want it just as bad.

It's a tough call, but i think O' Sullivan will win 9-6 that is my prediction..

A lot is riding on the match. O'Sullivan can equal Stephen Hendry's 5 titles at the event if he wins, while Higgins has only won it twice. That is a poor return for a player of his class. My money is on Ronnie because it's more his event, while the Grand Prix is Higgins'

Not resting: Higgins will be hoping to match his three World Championships in Telford

If the match was a quarter final or somehow an earlier stage clash, I'd expect John to win it.. But as it's a semi-final, we have seen enough of Ronnie, and he seems to be doing everything as they're supposed to, to win the title..

I'm with you, in this prediction spike, 9-6

And great picture again, by the way

Should be a good match today, the 2 best players in the world in my opinion. I think Ding is in for a very difficult final no matter who he gets :snooker:

i really hope ronnie can pull it off but higgins is the player i feel least confident about ronnie playing.

it's a tossup though, both certainly have the capacity to pull it off.

                                C'mon Ronnie!
