I had tremendous fun tonight. Very enjoyable match of snooker. Higgins pretty much said it all in his post-match comment. He didn't quite hit top form tonight, and was relying on has tactical game to get him through. But Ding matched him, and just made fewer mistakes, especially at the business end of the match.
It was a worthy finale to a pretty good tournament, and a worthy match to end the decade.
Now bring on the Masters!

Thanks all for the answer.
Now it doesn't feel like we'll need to wait long untill Ding's next win or final
Serious threat already there for Higgins and Ronnie, adding Robbertson and Murphy to the picture as well.Last edited by ore; 14 December 2009, 12:45 AM.Co-winner of Spike’s 2009 UK Championship number of centuries prediction contest.

Ronnie won his first UK title in 1993, nearly as an 18 year older, added his second four years later.. Just like Ding winning his first back in 2005, his second in 2009..
So, I expect Ding to become 2013 world champion
Well done, Ding, well done against a great playerAll the way Mark J!!

Well done to Ding, it's a pitty there had to be a loser. The scoreline would have been different if John didn't give so much "presents" to Ding like the missed frame ball brown in frame 15. This victory is very important for Ding, because loosing two consecutive finals in a row could be very frustrating for him.

Well done Ding! Higgins was out of sorts a bit but in the end these little things (missing the brown, missing the red in the last frame) make the difference because otherwise it was a very close match. Lot of strange frames there where the balls were awkwardly... Ding outplayed Higgins in safety department which was a little surprise to me. All in all Ding looked very complete there.
