you give him an inch and he takes a mile - anybody who is not sure who the current best player in the world is doesn't watch enough snooker for me JH is number one by a country mile.

lol not sure about 9-3 but i would make him marginal favourite - bound to be a final frame match the welsh nearly always is!

Maguire looks really focused as he has for most of the tournament. Ideally it would be good to see this match finish all square going into this evenings session..

Maguire has played very well indeed but fair play to John, he's done very well to only be 3-5 down. And bar that red he missed in the 7th frame it could have been 4-4.

Mags is ahead but wont be too pleased...could have been 7-1 and a comfortable finish...instead 5-3 and a lot work to do....
Well he will have a break and will think of his mistakes and I hope he will come out the same as he started first session..
PS: why JH almost never gets really pinished?!...that pink was so desperate

Very entertaining session. The result leaves things nicely for tonight, especially because it's Higgins that's behind. I think he will give it a good shot tonight, but I also expect Maguire to be ready for it.

                        ------------------

Maguire had a good chance to go 6 - 2 ahead there after John missed the pink leaving the reds spread and an easy opener, will he come to regret it later? Could be a classic this one.

                          Higgins has got this.

Maguire played well enough to bury him then, but he didn't. Just watch, Higgins will move up the gears tonight and take it 9-7.

JH can do that, but i think Mags can step up a gear too...it will be close.
