  • Travel and lodging help much appreciated!

I am thinking about maybe going to the Welsh Open this year. I assume it will be the Newport Centre as usual.

Cheap lodging can always be found (I hope). But the big issue is: I need to get from Stansted Airport to Newport. I know railway and coaches are available. I would imagine a bus takes about 2-3 hrs and train of course shorter, but more expensive.

I would like to get some help with advice on how to travel (bus or train or both, best route etc.). I would prefer to not go into London town, if possible. Info such as time tables and ticket prices and such are also much appreciated.

Train: www.nationalrail.co.uk. From and to all destinations
    Bus: www.nationalexpress.com

There is a direct connection from London to Newport. 2,5 half hours.

Booking a train ticket online, well in advance makes it a lot cheaper. I have used both. Stansted to London by train and Sheffield to Leeds by bus.

      Hi,
If I was you I would get the direct train - I wouldnt have thought it would cost too much. Where are you flying from?

        Hi R
        How's u?
I've just got over the NI Trophy - I had a great time. You going to Aberdeen?

Sorry no help about getting to Newport - I flew to Bristol then trained the rest. No idea from Stansted. Plus I spent way too much money on accommodation!!!

                The Hilton is expensive everywhere.

He has to fly from Sweden. Through London and train. Or maybe a cheap flight to Cardiff (dont know if they are available)

I know when I tried to look for a cheap flight to Cardiff there was none! That's why I went into Bristol which was really quite convenient.

What tournies are you going to?

Yeah - seen him several times only spoke to him once though. Stayed at the same hotel as him but I didn't stalk him this time Had someone with me that wouldn't let me
Didn't ask him about his underwear this time - I already knew the answer
