      So who /is/ Dene O'Kane and why does he think he can win anything?

        Judd Trump 5-2 Mark Boyle 77(64)-43, 24-110(110), 67(50)-10, 108(104)-0, 0-85(77), 107(103)-1, 90(90)-4

        That is some very good scoring,
        64,50,104,103,and 90 from Judd in 5 frames, that is exceptional.
        Not only that, but the 2 frames that Boyle won, were with breaks of,
        110, and 77.

        On TV I haven't seen a better scoring match than that.
        1994 a good year
        The Masters a great event
        The Final a marvellous match
        The Winner a snooker genius
        Alan McManus The Winner
        Stephen Hendry The Loser

        1994 a good year....

          Elvaago,
          Dene O'Kane is a pro from New Zealand, well known in the late 80's/early 90's, highest ranking of 17.
          He qualified again for the tour this season, and has come over too see if he still has it, I think he does, but he isn't showing it ATM.
          He did of course reach a major final in 1988 losing 9-8 to Mike Hallett, in Hong Kong.
          Notable wins-
          Cliff Thorburn 10-5, Doug Mountjoy 13-5 {1987 EWC)
          Joe Johnson 5-2 {1988 British Open}
          Stephen Hendry 5-2, Martin Clark 5-1 {1990 Classic}
          James Wattana 5-2 {1997 International}
          1994 a good year
          The Masters a great event
          The Final a marvellous match
          The Winner a snooker genius
          Alan McManus The Winner
          Stephen Hendry The Loser

              He *was* a reasonable player, but scoring 40 points in 5 frames is rather weak to say the least.

                One match in Round 2 is already finished. Unsurprisingly it's the match between Tony Drago and Jamie Jones:

                Tony Drago v Jamie Jones 5-2

                Good win for Tony.

                    I see Mark Boyle hit a career best 100 break. It seems amazing that a top 96pro player can have such a low hihgest break.

                    What counts as a career break? is it only break made on the main tour then?

                        Keep going JP! Must be in decent form as Michie had beat Judd Trump, 5-2.

                        John Parrott MBE (Eng) 5-4 Jimmy Michie (Eng)
                        95(53)-8, 0-90(65), 46-67(54), 132(132)-0, 0-70(45), 58-9, 41-58, 58-39, 62-9.

                          Personally, I'm very much looking forward to Cope v Ding. Two of the shooting stars finally meeting in a venue. I'm not completely sure but I don't think they've met before, have they? Anyway, should be a good one to see whether the future of snooker lies in China or England.

                          Hope they both hit a bit of form and provide us with an exciting match.

                            ---------

                            Liang Wenbo gets to play Bond, which he can do. If he does he will have won 4 games already
                            Ding & Cope will be a good match, although Ding always seems to get the hard matches
                            Parrott has a tricky match, but I think he might win
                            Andrew Higginson could also get through, he has played 3 qualifying matches so far, he plays Fu.
                            You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
