an honest assessment of Mr Mcmanus this season would be something along the lines of a great start to the season but he has gone progressively backwards losing his first match in each of the last two ranking tournaments.

he has an interesting draw in Wales against a rejuvinated Rod Lawler-the winner going on to play another rejuvenated player in stephen maguire !!

he is already out in china but appears to have a favourable final qualifying match against possibly Pinches (who has been fading for the last couple of years) in order to qualify for sheffield

so from a current provisional ranking of 33 (global snooker centre figures) my guess that his immediate aim would be to stay in the top 32 by the end of the season !! so he probably needs to win two more matches to guarantee to be in the top 32 next season. judging bythe above matches i would fancy him to qualify for sheffield but wouldnt be too sure he will beat lawler

      could be very interesting !!

Alan has lost two qualifiers, but has been pretty good at venues, he of course isnt used to the qualification tables and so on, not that I am using that as an excuse for his pathetic displays, but I think Alan will breeze past Rod, and win against Stephen, to set up a possible against Ken Doherty, a game which can go either way.
I also think he should qualify for Sheffield, I mean, 15 years there in a row, why stop now?
I fancy him to end in the top 25 this seaosn, and would you belive that he is at 17th in the one year rankings, so a top 16 return is possible next season, or the following one.

i wouldnt be too confident against Lawler-rod is having his best season for years and is a similar sort of pro to a certain David Roe both journeymen but seasoned in the qualifying campaigns -and you say yourself your man isnt !!!!!! so i think you need to take one game at a time for mr M i would suggest !!!!.

a last 16 v Doherty (on current form is a long long way off)

had this match been 4 months ago then i would have agreed with your summary !!!!

I think the McManus-Lawler match could last for days! I have booked Monday 19th off work, to watch the rescheduled final, on the strength of this!

Has anybody ever had to play two rounds in one day due to overrunning?

P.S Come on Alan. (It still seems wierd how in the two years list he is falling out of the top 32 and in the one year he is reentering the top 16)

He was provisionally down to 55 or something like that at the end of last season i believe. Some good runs this year though have helped him look likely to stay in at least the top 32 for next year. Its not time for him to fade away just yet, I'm sure he still has plenty more tough matches in store for his opponents.

I really hope that Mr Bond show this fat guy Lee out of Welsh open in round 2! I have never liked this birdman Lee! I really think that he eating his birds. But if Lee goes to the semifinal, lets hope that Mcmanus shows up there an play the **** out of Lee!

And i also hope that Ian McCulloch shows Mr bizzare, Aka. Ronnie Osullivan the exit door in round 2. That would set Ronnies brain in another direction.
Also, if Dave Harold could bet the most boring man n universe, Mr Ebdon, that i would like.

And watch out for Gerard Greene in round 2, Dott! I really think that Greene has found some form.

So you dont like players with a bit of flair Like Stephen Lee and Ronnie. And you prefer the plodders like Bond and Harold. Well you are welcome to watch them while everyone else watches the exciting players.
