    • Really? Live scoring has it at 3-1 with Ken at the table!

Not great at the moment - at the start the MC even said 'there's not many of us in today so lets all give the players a good welcome to show what a great crowd we've got'.

Definately more in this afternoon than yesterday - to see Stevens (and Day) - with Ronnie, Hendry et al playing tomorrow I should think the crowd will pick up from there.

Weren't many of us on the other side of the hall watching Alan suffer a whitewash! He potted a few great shots but all too often missed the relatively easy ones leaving MAguire in with a great chance to clear up - which fair play to him he did.

Stevens looked awful but Selby's getting better and better - possibility of a match against Ronnie in the next round!

Well given how it is now 4-2 I am guessing Eurosport is wrong!!

            • About the crowds, its having the fewest crowd of all tournaments this season I reckon. Yesterday evening i counted 3 adults and 5 youngsters (probably free entrance) left side of the table. The Malta Cup was well filled up though!

              • I am not surprised over Mr Bond good performance against Lee so far, 4-2 right now. Anyone that is surprised?

I know I said the crowd wasn't great and there's definately not many sitting around the tables so it does come across on tv that there's not many there at all - but to be fair, many more people are sat towards the back and up in the balcony area so they can watch all 3 matches at once - may not be visible on tv. If people are going to see a particular match (i.e. mcmanus ) then they're sat down the front but lots are watching from the back.

I would think its comparable to the early stages of most of the tournaments (apart from sheffield ) - if they crammed everyone from the back in to the same number of rows as at york for example it would look a lot better (but be unbearable on the legs - newport isn't generous in terms of leg room!!)

Not in the slightest...Stephen Lee really has been terrible of late. Mentally the guy is nowhere and hardly ever wins against the bigger names. And, whenever he misses a shot he goes back to his chair, shaking his head and smirking, which obviously gives confidence to your opponent as well.

                          • I get the feeling that this will be a low scoring round, predictions-wise.

                            Well, for mine anyway...

                              • Did anyone else see what rush Lee had from the match? He still had a chance to win the frame.

If Bond plays this slow in the rest of the tournamnet, i think he will have a chance to go the final.
