Higgo needs to screw his head back on straight, and get someone to look at his game!!! This is just horrible!!

    • I have to disagree with you JHISMG, Higginson played very well bar the last frame. Why should Higgins have won the match no matter what? Even in the first 3 frames he looked dangerous and now with the top half wide open again (nice that for Murphy as usual) he could have a decent run here.

Higginson has never played on TV tables before thats why he should never have beaten the world no.4.

Im not saying Higginson played badly, he took his chances I'm just saying Higgins gave him every chance he got with a nice little cherry on top for extra measure. I'm just sick and ****ing tired of seeing John get knocked out by absolute nobodys it makes me feel physically sick.

Murphy will have to beat Jamie Cope first. Not an easy task.

          • I would fancy him to beat him more than Ding. I reckon Cope will go 4-2 and then as usual Murphy will win the last 3 to edge it 5-4.

              • Anyone watched the Ding v Cope match? How did Ding play? I haven't seen him play since the Masters. Has it recovered from the Masters final? The scorelines don't tell the whole story. He's had two tough matches.

Maybe Higgins had the stuffing knocked out of him when Ebdon beat him at York in the semis. Higgins played brilliantly that day but Ebdon was even better. He's been on a downward slope ever since which is a shame, as he's a great player to watch when he's on form.

                    • Sorry people but Andrew HAS played on TV before, against Ken Doherty in Malta, and he went 2-0 over Ken.

He is a very good player who has taken his time to reach the peak of the game, to call him an unknown is absurd, little known to you yes, but as Clive Everton said "known in the snooker world".

He lost to Marco Fu(another unknown) playing well in Malta.

Ding in Northern Ireland, the eventual unknown winner.

Mark King in Aberdeen, a well known player who cna beat ANYONE on his day.

                      So many unknowns.

John is a good player who is going to slide down the ranking lsit from here on, he will stay top 16 for 5 more years but thats the end of it. But yes he is losing, but he is losing to talent.
                      1994 a good year
                      The Masters a great event
                      The Final a marvellous match
                      The Winner a snooker genius
                      Alan McManus The Winner
                      Stephen Hendry The Loser

                      1994 a good year....

DREAM ON MAN!! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!
He has admitted he has some quirks with is technique at the moment..I'm sure he's getting that sorted...!! We'll have him back in form next season for sure...!!

                          quoted by mcmanus rules

sorry but i dont know what evidence you have for saying that sir !!!!

most top players lose every now and again

Higgins has been probably the most consistant 'top player' of the past 2-3 years & ok he jas now lost his opening first round match for the second successive tournament but thats hardly proof for a slide down the rankings !!!

                          • No but what I am saying is that it happens to all players.

Stephen Hendry, slid down and stopped winning- still is.
Mark Williams stopped winning, almost completely.
Stephen Lee has stopped being as consistant as he once was.
                            Ronnie O'Sullivan is losing intrest.
Ken Doherty- Not that good this season.
                            Peter Ebdon- inconsistant.

John will follow suit, I hope I am wrong, but I think I'm right.

                            • Little known to me? I know who he is, by unknown I meant not recognised as one of the players that should be beating or coming close to beating John. I will repeat it again, Higginson DID play some top snooker tonight, I'm just sick of seeing John lose to these kinds of players.

No kind of argument, but how is Alan McManus doing these days?

Thirdly, there is no need to have a go at me. (Another unknown). I know snooker, I study snooker, please dont insult my snooker knowledge when you dont even know me!

I think you also forgot to add that Alan McManus will be World Champion without dropping a frame whilst making a 147 in each to your ludacrus statement
