    • Ebdon 4-1 Harold. Harold needed 2 snookers and clearance, got one on yellow, but then left a green for Ebdon and he cleared the colours

      • Osullivan didn't need to play well to win 5 - 1. He looks ok so far.
I saw that going differently in my mind

I don't agree very much to that. Ronnie played well because McCulloch played very well too and Ronnie was a bit lucky that he got 3-1 and 4-1 lead (of course, when he got the chance, he was superb). after that Ian just broke down and started to make mistakes.

          • Didn't see any of it so can't possibly comment. However, one thing I will say is that with Ebdon leading 4-1, playing well this season, and everyone else seeming to be being beaten early at the moment (Higgins here and in Malta, Ronnie in Malta, eetc) Ebdon could well be World Number 1 next season.... (although I can't fully recall the provisional 2-year ranking list I saw on global snooker centre before it disintegrated or whatever happened)

            • Ebdon struggled with his form in Malta... looks good today so far, would be interesting how far he could get in Wales.

              • Looking at the score the Hamilton - Perry game is looking good.

Come on Joe continue the come back.

Could be, but he didn't play superbly I find, just thought that Ronnie's backup game was enough today to qualify. Playing Selby next - could be interesting

                  • Ronnie better tries his prime game out, will be needed against Selby but the first frame was his prime game. and that century too. and what sort of a game it was in Malta, Wim?

                      • agree Wim. and it wasn't his lucky day too.

Harold looks good to win two frames in a row, can be 4-3 soon (from 4-1)

                        • I already said that on two other forums... Points! So happy for those ranking points.
The O'Sullivan/McCulloch match could have been closer, yes. Solid breaks from Ronnie when he got in and that steal in the 5th...great one! His safety seemed ok, too. This being said, I think Ian missed too much after taking the early initiative. Who knows...maybe last year's first-round match in Newport was still somewhere in the back of his mind...
Anyway...BC is happy. Let me see for how long.
                          Great match report, April! Thanks!
