But the Premier League and the Grand Prix are organised by two different organisations. It'd be nice if they took eachother into account, but they don't have to.

Worldsnooker is just being stupid by scheduling the Welsh Open and Malta Cup so close together. Stupid I say.

It doesnt suprise me when you have a look at the qulifiers, the planning of those are not to good either, i know people that get knocked out in wales on the first day go home as its not worth staying up there but have to play again the following week. The whole thing is unfair for players

I did have a look at that, but noticed the first day at Newport does not feature any of the players at Malta (I have a feeling that only Fu at Malta is playing in the first round; others are either in the top 16 so go straight to round 2, or did not qualify).

With the lack of tournaments at the mo, we should just be glad that at least these two tournaments are taking place.

No it isnt ideal not having at least a day to spare between events but when the calendar used to be busy, back-to-back tournaments were regular - and we didnt mind then!

I know the players get really fed up as they wait weeks on end for a tournament to come along to have two in one month and then have to wait over a month - two months for another one. its just mainly a waiting game for something to happen or come along

This is bad planning. I could understand it if there were 15 tournaments a year!

                    Quite so, thanks.

Anyhow, these are three of the players that are not playing at Newport till Tuesday, so they have at least thought that through!

malta cap ends on the 10th feb and welsh starts on the 11th. they are not going to clash. and most of the player who are in malta atm, are not playing on the first day of the welsh tourney. i dont think its bad planning ...
