I think a lot of players do have more pain than Murphy as they even don't reach the semis.
I saw that going differently in my mind

There are also many great players who get through the qualifiers and do very well in the first round only to fail to continue on the later rounds.

Well Hendry has lost more semifinals than anyone else in the history of the game so he must be the most miserable player ever.

"Poor Murphy" ? - im sure he doesnt want anyones sympathy but yes, it hurts them all to loose. I guess its unlucky for Murphy that he seems to bring out the best in Ronnie who has been his nemesis twice this season. Murphy always seems to start off well and then run out of steam or something. I think he is likely to overcome this though, and he will then become even stronger.

Hasnt he been in more SFs than anyone else fullstop ? And simply because of that he will have both lost more and won more than anyone else ?

Some people do think he is miserable but thats not what you meant im sure.

Yes Danny, irony can sometimes be lost in translation.

As Davis has been in more Finals than anyone else - he has to have been in more semi-finals!

In a funny way, although they are very much this seasons form players, we don't really know how good Murphy and Selby are under pressure. Neither player has come up against a really in form O'Sullivan but Murphy did yesterday and had no answer. If Ronnie performs in the final today, it will be interesting to see how Selby copes.

What's poor? To get to semis 4 times is amazing result and he can be proud of himself!
