After the match the old guy asked Ali : How often do you win 7 frames in a row ? And Ali replied: It depends who you are playing.

I am quite sure Ali wasn't thinking about Joe when he answered the question, but for a moment it sounded a bit harsh. But then again Swail was not at the races in the evening session.

              • Ali played very well in the last 7 frames, he deserved to win his first ranking title. Shame about Swail though as he may not get another chance to win a title. Congratulations to Ali!
Just wanted to say thanks to all the people who put stream links up throughout the tournament!

                • All the Top 16 players entered the tournament, not exactly Ali´s problem how well or not well they played, is it?
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

                  • "In my eyes I've beaten three of the top six players in the world this week in Mark Allen, Stephen Maguire and Neil Robertson. I may have lost tonight but I'll try not to dwell on it."

That's a quote from Swail after the match. Who are the other three then? O'Sullivan, Murphy and Selby? How about Higgins and Carter? Think before you speak Joe.

I thought the same thing at the time, but I suppose he was just ecstatic and it may have sounded a bit harsh like you said. I believe he never meant to sound rude or disrespectful to Joe.

                        • The final was a bit of an anti-climax with the session whitewash, but the better player won, well done Ali!

I thought exactly the exactly the same thing! Ali probably realised how it may have come across afterwards.
