What on earth is the problem with that?
Will it be live on TV ? That is the question....

    • I guess I have to admit to the logic and sense of posters like Jiang Yu and Alex0paul -unfortunately it is Selbys right to the TV table, no matter how many people would prefer to see Jimmy on it.

It is a shame that exceptions and allowances cannot be made in circumstances like this though. It wouldnt be surprising if the Jimmy vs Carter match is packed out inthe arena, and there are about 3 people watching Selby. But that wont make any difference either.

bold in quote added by me.

I don't understand it, Danny. How does anyone get the "right" to be playing on the tv table. Maybe it is more tradition than anything but nothing set in stone.

I should think it is broadcasters' prerogative to decide which match they are going to televise seeing that they are the ones who have paid for the rights. If the broadcasters want to show a highly popular match (which will generate them more ad revenue) they shouldn't be instead forced to defer to the defending champions "right" to be shown on tv.

                Just my opinion.

I guess we will find out tomorrow for certain.

I don't understand why people have a problem understanding the following:

Table 1, 1pm: Ali Carter v Jimmy White
                              followed by
                              Mark Selby v Paul Davies

So they are both on the main table

LOL, its not that peole cant understand that. People just didnt know that was the case until you posted.

Everyone was wrongly assuming JW would not get the table as we thought he was playing at the same time as Selby. I think that was the case on the original schedule, but that seems to have been amended.
