  • Gould is the world number 63. I think the score says something about the level Hendry is playing at.

    • Hendry just missed frame ball to force a decider....CMON GOULD...

      • Hendry out.

OMG that is so depressing ! Worst result of Hendrys career. (The best of Gould's too i would think)

        • Proven wrong again. Not an easy black for the match, but Hendry shouldn't have missed the red before. Gould deserved to win it in the end.

                    Agreed.
It's not about who's playing better, it's about who's playing less badly.
The good news, João, is that it can only get better!

                    • Disasterous day for Hendry- crashes out 5-3 and with it slides further down the provisional rankings

I think it is the end of the line for Hendry- I can see a retirement announcement in Sheffield

                          • Judging by their results Maguire and Selby dont seem to have been playing too badly.

Lets see what Ronnie will bring to the proceedings tomorrow.

I've been a fan of Stephen's for 22 years and this run of bad form is heartbreaking. I think that he'll drop out of the top 16 at the end of the season and in doing so, he'll retire. I can't honestly see him wanting to go to the qualifiers after everything that he has achieved.

This rapid decline in form is very sad, but nothing lasts for ever I suppose.

                              • Hendry won't be retiring but that is a blow, both to his already shattered confidence and his ranking. Quite a significant loss I think, he has been playing badly but deep down I still expected him to come through that before it started.

Looks to me like next season will be his last in the top 16 unless he finds some form from somewhere and soon
