A lot of you guys should be fair to the Champion himself rather than substitute his right, as Champion to get TV coverage, with your own personal prejudices. If Selby loses his crown first round, in hindsight, it would be awful had the match not been shown live.
It's fair for Selby and even though I'd rather see Jimmy play it's not my Crown that I'm defending nor is it the latter's. You know I'm right on this one and I know, I know, I hate being right too
now if jimmy does manage to get past carter he sure as hell better be on tv for his 2nd round match!!

Mark Selby is defending champion and number 1 seed. Jimmy White is the 65th seed. He has no right to be on the main table over Selby.TSF World Champion 2010

people talk about snooker being a dying sport and its obvious why the sport is struggling with old farts who are in charge and not fans of the game who have some idea of what the people want to see...ronnie has been sayin pretty much the same thing for years now, so if u dont agree with me then read his interviews of late.

Last year we were shown quite a bit of action from the other table with cameras, so I'm sure we'll be shown a bit of Carter-White. I would personally prefer to watch the Carter-White match, but with only one proper TV table, someone has to lose out. It would be much easier if two tables were televised, as in most events, but even in the UK Championship there were sessions when at least three, if not all four of the matches were good prospects. Just bad luck I guess, especially as Carter is himself the 6th seed.

Im of the opinion that the tv coverage should serve the viewers first and players ego second not the other way round.

Boring decision.
Wont bother watching it now. People want to see Jimmy White. The othe games will be more than half empty and if Selby's game does have a few in, it will because of the Welsh guy he is playing. I've nothing against Selby but people would much prefer to watch someone thats given 25 years to snooker. Numbers are falling fast and with decisions like this, they wonder why hardly anyone cares anymore.
