Disasterous day for Hendry- crashes out 5-3 and with it slides further down the provisional rankings
I think it is the end of the line for Hendry- I can see a retirement announcement in Sheffield
I've been a fan of Stephen's for 22 years and this run of bad form is heartbreaking. I think that he'll drop out of the top 16 at the end of the season and in doing so, he'll retire. I can't honestly see him wanting to go to the qualifiers after everything that he has achieved.
This rapid decline in form is very sad, but nothing lasts for ever I suppose.
Hendry won't be retiring but that is a blow, both to his already shattered confidence and his ranking. Quite a significant loss I think, he has been playing badly but deep down I still expected him to come through that before it started.
Looks to me like next season will be his last in the top 16 unless he finds some form from somewhere and soon
