He's provisionally 11th at the start of The Welsh - though hes clearly likely to slip further after its all over. Theres a chance he could hang on for one more season in the top 16 with just 2 more rankers after this one. Quite amazing how long hes hanging on TBH.

Just shows how crucial that World semi-final was. To be honest I knew it at the time, I said back in May that he had basically bought himself another season to turn things around and so it has proved. Without the turning it around bit

I've been a fan of Stephen's for 22 years and this run of bad form is heartbreaking. I think that he'll drop out of the top 16 at the end of the season and in doing so, he'll retire. I can't honestly see him wanting to go to the qualifiers after everything that he has achieved.

This rapid decline in form is very sad, but nothing lasts for ever I suppose.

I can only imagine the loss of self-esteem this decline must have caused Hendry... and as well, being the tough as nails competitor he has always been, his scramble to try and figure out the problems standing in the way of his winning form... must suck to be Hendry these days.

Wait a minute... I never had a winning form to regain... so it sucks even more to be me!

The thing with Hendry that is quite annoying for me is that two or three years ago I used to sit watching him and say "God if you went for a few less shots and kept your concentration then you would be better" and so on. Now the funny thing is that he has done exactly as I wanted really, but things are even worse

The only positive I've taken from watching him this season is that for all the poor positional shots, poor pots and the fact that his confidence is shot to pieces, he still looks to me like he cares and that he is battling. To get seven frames off Lee at the UK's and four from Neil at the Masters for example, purely because of his battling qualities because his actual play was pretty shocking.
