my god neils been getting a terrible run of the balls in this match, 2 or 3 times hes potted a good red then cannond one of the baulk colors in as well, burnett isnt leaving much when he misses either.
can you guess who im supportinig in this one?
What was Steve Davis saying to the crowd that provoked a laugh?
haha this was great, i was in the crowd where the ear pieces were too loud, they seemed to suddenly get louder on their own Steve had a word with the ref about it and Jan asked him who it was so Steve pointed into the crowd and was joking around saying 'I think it was him...'
I was surprised by the white shirt as well as the prolonged autograph signing session at the end of the match eventhough he seemed totally out of sorts during the match but I know he likes Wales and the Welsh people so no real surprise there. It's just the white shirt doesn't really suit him
Oh yeah, coudn't agree more - white shirt doesn't suit him at all...
And the fresh haircut was quite messy / not laying that well yet too
Got a question to the more 'experienced' viewers:
Are there some press conferences/short interviews organised after the match/at some other time? Are they aired anywhere then?
I take it for example these quotes are taken from some similar thing: http://www.worldsnooker.com/welsh_op...17.htm?tid=120

Firstly she's not a bad referee- but she's not ready for the world final yet. I would expect her to get a semi final with Jan Verhaas getting the final
I don't think any ref has got the world final without doing the UK Open final first.
I would expect her to get the Welsh Open final this week though
I can understand what it must be like for Michaela knowing that any mistake will get magnified. We are all human, men make mistakes as well but it tends not to attract as much attention.
My job is football commentary- and there are some men with the station I work for who detest the idea of a woman commentator- for the simple reason of my gender.
Michaela- stay with it- and carry on doing what you do
completely agree although id like her to get the finals i know what its like to have mistakes magnified and exaggerated because of gender so it wouldnt help her to get it before shes ready because of the unwaranted stick she already gets although saying that its long overdue lol i know in my work if anything goes wrong on my shift the blame is shifted to me when the guys and male bosses i work with make much worse and much more frequent errors than me (i frequently spend my time fixing their mistakes lol) but its never picked up on you just have to have broad shoulders a convenient deaf ear or two, keep your eyes and ears open your head down focus on the job, do it twice as good as the men and fight your own corner as noone else will - so no pressure then! lol :snooker:
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

Actually, Michaela only got the job BECAUSE she's a woman. She's not qualified in the same way as all the men and hasn't passed the necessary exams but was fast tracked.
And that's not a criticism. I think she's a very good ref and good enough to do the world final.
I like Tabb, she is professional, and is good with the fans and the viewers seem to like her.
She takes some spot light off some of the lesser known players when she is seen on TV. Traditionally, the ref is someone staying in the background quietly doing his job but she has changed that.
I have seen other ref made mistakes, too. Just this afternoon watching the match with Joe Swail the ref called out the wrong score then said, "sorry, 16" but it is not a big deal in my opinion. Some ref are very bad, keeps standing at the wrong place, and moving in the way of the player, and paying attention to the wrong thing but Tabb is not one of those.
lol, unlike football I don't seem to notice much difference between referees. Oh well there was that guy called Leo Scullion who annoyed me alot during the Grand Prix. (?)
Good tournament but there's no way this outlived the Masters Tournament. The highlights for me was the Swail and Maguire match.
yes as good as the Welsh was it didn't reach the overall standard of play of The Masters. Still enoyable stuff none the less. Cant wait for the China Open!!
