No, I wouldn't... I would be gutted I missed the "many" opportunities I was given by a below par Ronnie!!!

Not a lot of people would understand what goes inside the mind of a player (especially a player like Ronnie)... He was playing bad, he probably thought "I'd play a few exhibition shots to please the crowd..." Who knows?!!

You'd prefer him playing plain snooker & winning while a thousand others might prefer him playing fantastic shots even if he loses... That's the most exciting thing about Ronnie... He won't just settle for "plain" snooker!!!

I'd prefer him to make centuries against both top5 and top100 guys, equally trying hard to make those centuries.
And yes, if a snooker would be a bit more plain but with a higher chance of a win, yes then plain snooker it is. Whatever that makes winning more likelly.
He can do all the mess he wants AFTER the frame ball (well and at least 2 snooker secure, since many players seem to be into trying out his getting-out-of-snooker abilities as it's worth a shot, he gets vulnerable with those enough of times).

My guess 'd be that all those crowds with aaaah ooooh would do an even bigger oooooh after winning the match. E.g. 2 such matches that were finals this season

And don't worry his game woudn't look much different because of playing slightly more 'safe'. Would look like in the UK pretty much

Stiuart - yes of course the main reason for kicking himself gonna be his own missed opportunities. But if your opponent is showing he can deal with you playing 1 handed or whatever of the like, that's gonna make you feel only worse!

& it's dangerous for Ronnie to discount some of R1 opponents. Not that much exactly yet, but going to be more and more risky in just a few years.

Both were bad at the start and Dale was even worse
However they got some game after MSI with 2 one-visit frames...can be another for Maguire
Stevens sends his match to a decider -another for him

I keep replying because the likes of you always think when Ronnie plays exhibition stuff that he's taking the mickey out of his opponent!!! Like it or not, he's one of the most genuine people you'll ever see and he likes to entertain & he feels extremely embarrassed when he's playing poorly!!!
