Welsh Open 2010 Final discussion

It's a shame that the race at the top of the rankings is now dead.. It looks like there will be no tension at all in China Open, so I expect a surprise winner there. Everybody will play at a rather practice mode for the Worlds as usual.

No one really cares about the race up the top. It was pretty much known that Higgins would be world number 1 when he won the WC last season.

Regardless, the excitement in the rankings is always in the 13-20 bracket. This could be time for a few new faces in the 16 - Walden, Wenbo and Cope are all in contention while mainstays like Ebdon and King are fighting to stay in the elite bracket.

Really chuffed these two are in the final, so i can just sit back and enjoy it. would love it to be a close 9-8 or 9-7 but think john may run away with it a little, with an end result of perhaps 9-5.

well done to ali on getting to the second consecutive welsh final!

Solid start from Higgins, although it was hard work for most of the break.

He likes to play a good opening session, so Carter needs to stick with him.

Higgins is looking good.

Carter did have the first chance, but couldn't get on a colour. He has to take those half chances. Higgins could get a good lead here.

Well, John can't keep potting everything so I'm not giving up on Ali... He will get a chance sooner or later & I have faith he can do it even if the man he's playing is called John Higgins
