Tonight's match proved that John Higgins is still on form and can play decent snooker, which is just enough to beat someone playing like Ali Carter at the moment. It is a disappointing final line-up to a pretty promising tournament, and I expect John to completely blow Carter up in the second half of the first session
I have no intentions to watch this match, though.. I've said before that there is no way Carter will find a way to get past the winner of the other semi final, and it's unchanged.
It's a shame that the race at the top of the rankings is now dead.. It looks like there will be no tension at all in China Open, so I expect a surprise winner there. Everybody will play at a rather practice mode for the Worlds as usual.
All the way Mark J!!

That's a bit harsh isn't it?
The China Open is a great tournament in it's own right, and it always provides some good matches. Ebdon played great snooker to win it last year, as did Ding, Williams and Dott to win it in 2005, 2006 and 2007 respectively. And the 2008 edition had that great final between Murphy and Maguire that went all the way.
The proximity of that event to the WC is actually one of the reasons I find it very interesting. It's a great indicator of players' form just ahead of the WC.
Anyway, there's no way I'll be missing the final, however one-sided it is. Although I don't think it will be one-sided at all.

I'm just trying to convince myself that the tournament will not be good, mate, as I'm going to miss much of the action I liked especially 2006, 2007 and 2009 finals of the tournament, and I'm sure this one will as good as those..
Oh, are you happy now? Now that I made the confession, I'm really disappointed to be missing this tournament
I disagree about tomorrow's final, though.. I don't think I can enjoy it the way my favourite players crashed out( MJW and Ronnie, I mean )..
All the way Mark J!!

Brendan Moore is referying his first final...
I think Ali can win it if he can cope with pressure
Finaly a decent referee for the final. At least he will not try to rip off John like Ian Verhaas did couple of times this season.
It is for sure that John will play solid match snooker in the final. I'm more concerned about Ali Carter. He showed that he is in very good form in this tournament, but the final is something different than best of 9/11 matches. I know that he will do his best to win this back to back, but unfortunately for him, his opponent today is not Joe Swail.
9-3 for John is what i predict.
