I don't understand why people are really upset. Did you guys really expect him to get to the World Championship televised stages?

Well I thought he had a fair chance TBH. He has got to the venue in 5 out of 7 events this season i think. I thought he'd scrape through his first few matches and then he'd have the real test agaisnt Mcculoch in the fianl qualifying round. But even Mccuolch seems to have been having a very poor season, so that wasnt totally impossible either. I did think it was a good chance for Jimmy as he has been playing ok all season.

How would Gray losing affect the one-year list situation?

Well the winner of Lawler/Selt is guaranteed to move up and push Gray out of the top 64, but Gray's one-year ranking isn't good enough to see him survive. Basically it helps Wallace who would replace Selt/Lawler in the top eight.

If Wallace somehow blows a 6-2 lead though then it's a reprieve for Preece.

The only thing Gray has going for him is that he is still in the China Open, so he would have to pull something out of the bag there.
