I quite like Gilbert. I remember dismissing him in a match once because he missed so many pots. It was a shock to see him play so well in Wales. I hope he gets to the Crucible where he'll be a real threat considering he did Selby.

Miracle needed by JP at 9-3 down. He has at least qualified for China to get some much needed ranking points, but needs to beat Murphy at least to stay in top 48.

I know his ranking doesn't necesserily suggest it, but I think Parrott might want to consider retirement in the near future. Losing is one thing, but a 10-3 defeat against Matt Couch is a bit embarrassing. He surely has more future as a commentator than as a player.

Many of them can perform well in one event. It remains to be seen whether he can repeat that kind of form more regularly.

I wouldnt call him a real threat until he shows he can do that.

That may be a bit harsh. But there has been a lot of random flashes in the pan recently.
