    • I'm absolutely delighted for Steve. Seems he got the wake up call just in time when he was 5-0 down. Hope he remembers the start time of matches at the Crucible.

      Good Luck Steve

The way Peter is playing at the minute id fancy anyone against him.

As usual I have read disgusting comments on some forums attacking him about his weight and branding the result "unfair" or "so sad for the game" ...
Late reply but no course not, feel free. Just finished off today's report here.

Agreed about Stephen too, I can understand the disappointment that an up and coming star like Judd has missed out this year but despite his terrific first session, Stephen did really well to hang in there and snatch it back. Was a lot like Hendry/Allen last year actually.

As for Lee Spick he put up a great fight, but it seems he will be relegated from the tour. If he would have playd against anybody else than Davis or Doherty I would have cheered him on. Maybe he will make it back to the tour.
That will be a real shame, he played very well attacking the open reds and knocking in some great balls, made some excellent breaks to 5 -0 up, although Steve made some stupid errors! he was addressing the white to pot an easy red and just moved the white an inch or so, was a big mistake as Lee went and made 50 or so from it, it was a great game,

He doesnt deserve to be off the tour seems harsh,

                          • Without making detailed calculations but looking at the provisional rankings and the one year list, I think Matt Couch, Daniel Wells and Lee Spick all have good chances to stay on the tour as, although they aren't in the top 64 in the provisional, they are most probably in the top 8 yearly list of players not in the top 64... (hope this makes sense)

                            • Matt wrote in his blog that Spick did enough to stay on the tour. That is good, it must be a shock when someone comes from 5-0 behind, let alone Davis with his vast experience of the game.

Now I would really love it if Davis would draw Ebdon. Also Hendry would do, but for other reasons. Second round will not be easy, no matter where he starts.

                              • Matt Couch is definitely staying on, in top 64 shame he didnt make the top 48
